In this 175 square meter house in Cluj-Napoca, the owners turned to the architects of AA Design Lab, who proposed a contemporary-minimalist design, with a base of neutral tones and accents on dark colors for the furnishing of the home. A family with two children bought this 81.5 square meter apartment in 2018 and turned to Cristina Micu Interior Design to bring it to the desired stage. They emphasized storage spaces, a dining area, a library and separate bedrooms for the children.
If the rest of the rooms are dominate by white and gray, the children’s rooms are the most colorful in the entire house. The boy’s bedroom is decorate in shades of gray, blue and green, and a cute stripe wallpaper covers the walls around his bed. The little girl’s room is full of pink accessories. An interwar house in Dorobanti was transform into a useful and contemporary space by architect Irina Radu of iDecorate and her team.
The parents wanted the children’s room to be a space that was easy to maintain, but that met several requirements. On the same wall, the architectural team compactly mounted the desk, library and cupboard for storing things. This way the little one has more space to play in the middle of the room, but also a specially designed bench for reading by the window.
Moreover, the chalkboard painted wall was the most ingenious idea, because the little one could decorate his room according to his own wishes.
9. Swan wallpaper and Montessori bed

10. Eggshell paint and blues

These two rooms have a fresh style, just like the rest of the house. But the details and all the furniture paint a fairytale world. The biggest challenge was the girls’ room, where everything had to be thought twice. But the room was not allow to be too busy.
In both bedrooms, the bed frame resembles a small house, but also has a functional storage function. And while the color blue predominates in the boys’ room, pink and purple are the stars in the girl’s room.
